Floriana 2             Melita 0

This was a hard fought out match and Floriana acquired three important points.
In the first half Melita were on the attack and had various inroads through their speed and passing of the ball however the Floriana defence held well with Daniel making an excellent point blank save.   Floriana had some counter attacks but most of possession and play in the first half belonged to Melita.   The score ended 0-0.

In the second half after some tactical changes and Bernard being replaced through injury Floriana had more possession of the ball and attacked more.    The Melita goalkeeper made 2 point blank saves   but had to concede defeat in the 25th minute when our stalwart defender Toni  moving upfront managed to dribble the ball past the goalkeeper and then shoot into the empty net, past  onrushing defenders.   Five minutes from the end, an attack from the centre saw Greg run through and then passing the ball to his left as soon as the onrushing goalkeeper tackled him, finding the unmarked Luca who made it 2-0.   Melita tried to recuperate and from a melee a header by an attacker saw Daniel make a last minute save pushing the ball over the crossbar.   

Three well earned points.    A game in which the boys showed their determination  and indepth strength.

The best of weekends for Floriana FC seeing that the Premier, U-15 and Minor Teams all emerged winners.
